* Well, we had one more blast of winter Saturday, Feb. 21. The shoveling and scraping of snow is really getting old. However spring has to be just around some corner, some where. This reporter took another ride around the point on Sunday and it was lonely on the road. There was no one tail gating and only two on-coming cars passed me. There have been robins spotted so maybe it won't be too much longer until heavier traffic will be cruising around "the horn."
* Gary and Roselyn Barnhill let us know that they have a new grandson. Grant Michael Barnhill was born to Josh and Tiffany Barnhill on Feb. 18. He weighed in at eight pounds and two ounces. He was also welcomed home by his big brother Derek Nicholas. Congratulations to the Barnhill family.
* A reminder -- The Danbury Junior/Senior After Prom Parents will hold a spaghetti dinner Monday, March 2, in the school cafeteria from 5-7 p.m. This is also the same night of the Science Olympics. The cost for the dinner is $6 for adults and $3 for children five and under. The dinner will consist of spaghetti, salad, and dessert. All proceeds will benefit the Junior/Senior After Prom.
* The Danbury Food Pantry item for the month of March is peanut butter and jelly.
* Something to look forward to -- the third annual block party for residents, families, and friends of Clemons, Charles, Erie, Cherry and Lucien streets in Marblehead is scheduled for Saturday, March 7. The party will begin with a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. at Wee Willy's Sports Pub. The party will then continue with DJ Cha-Chi at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun. For more information or to RSVP contact Alison Sauvey at 419-798-0000 or Jill Stephenson at 419-798-4846. In case of inclement weather the event will be postponed until Saturday, March 14.
* Gary and Roselyn reported that they attended Sandusky's State Theater play about Coretta King. They stated that it was an awesome production. The Cincinnati Children's Theater put it on. The production will be about Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad Monday, March 30 at 10:30 a.m. or 7 p.m. The cost is $5.
* Todd Behlke, son of Mike and Joanne Behlke, was recently home from Texas for a visit. He scheduled his return home during our really cold weather and his Texas friends couldn't understand why a person would want to leave their warm weather. But Todd knew what he was in for. He went snowmobiling to Put-in-Bay, and enjoyed a party at the Boardwalk. Todd got to do a little ice fishing on Sunday. You definitely can have fun in the north.
* Keep the news coming about anything up-coming.
