Marblehead Police Association Reverse Raffle, March 27

The Marblehead Police Department Association will be holding their fourth annual reverse raffle on Saturday, March 27. The location of the event will be at St. Mary's Social Hall located next to the Marblehead Lighthouse. The doors will open at 4:30. The dinner will include prime rib and authentic Mexican cuisine.

Tickets will go on sale to the public after Monday, March 1. Tickets are $55, which includes dinner and raffle entry. Extra dinner tickets will be $15 at the door. There are only 300 tickets sold for the event, so don't miss out, call the Marblehead Police Department at 419-798-5881 for tickets.

Proceeds from the reverse raffle are to benefit the Marblehead Police Department and Marblehead Police K-9 Alex. The Marblehead Police K-9 Unit was established in 2003 and has since been very beneficial to the department. Since the program has been in place, the department has been very successful in drug interdiction.

K-9 Alex is a 14-year-old German Shepherd. He is the oldest work dog in Northwest Ohio. Alex's handler, Phil Howell, who is currently serving overseas, is looking to retire him in the near future, A fund has been established to purchase a new police dog in the future. A new K-9 is estimated to cost around $6,000-$8,000.

The Marblehead Police Department has been loyal with protecting the lives and property of the citizens, enforcing the laws, preventing crime, and educating the public.
