Debbie Wagenhals recipient of special award

Edgewood Manor Nursing Center is pleased to announce Debbie Wagenhals as the proud recipient of the "Second Mile Award" for quarter four of 2009 and received "Second Mile of the Year" as well.

This honor, awarded quarterly, is given to deserving employees of Covenant Care (parent company of Edgewood Manor). This is a unique award in that the nominations come from resident families, friends and care providers and then are reviewed by our company and awarded to the employee. The "Second Mile" is to signify the extra effort and attention put into the details of one job description to do a great job.

In addition to the quarterly award, Wagenhals was the winner of this honor for the entire year. Of the recipients chosen throughout the four quarters, the regional management team chose one to hold the honor for the entire year.

"Debbie Wagenhals is truly a special person who you can tell enjoys each and every day she is at the facility with her residents," said Mark Knepper, director of operations over the six Covenant Care facilities in Ohio. "Debbie spends much of her off time with the residents and can be seen singing, helping and enjoying the company of all her friends 'the residents' at Edgewood Manor. She also spends much of her own time and money either making or buying residents gifts during Christmas and other holidays and/or birthdays to make those times special for these individuals. She is truly a caring person and the residents at Edgewood Manor would all agree," Knepper added.

Wagenhals has worked in the healthcare industry for many years and has extensive knowledge working with insurance companies, billing applications and helps our residents and their families navigate the Medicare and Medicaid processes.

Edgewood Manor is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center. Services offered include short term rehab stays, long term care, skilled nursing, respite stays, hospice care, and outpatient therapy services.
