Lady Lakers beat Maumee Valley
The Danbury Lady Laker girls basketball team traveled to Maumee Valley on Thursday, Feb. 11, and took the 47-20 victory.
Kayla Oxendale led the team with 12 points (all scored in the first half), followed by Kelsey Clemons with nine points. Christine Longer set the career three point mark in the game by scoring on a three point basket in the third quarter, her current total is at 89 for her career.
On Saturday, Feb. 13, the girls avenged an 80-34 loss to Toledo Christian earlier in the season by beating the Eagles at home 48-47. After falling behind 39-32 at the end of three quarters the Lady Lakers won the final quarter 16-8.
Leading the team was Heather Bahnsen with 17 points (six in the final period) and Tori England with 11 points (eight in the final period including two three-pointers).
