Snow and wind

The snow that on Friday night (Feb. 5) was blown across the peninsula as the winds whipped around 40 miles per hour. Many places along the roadways had huge snowdrifts that made driving hazardous. Pictured above is the Ohio Department of Transportation on Monday morning clearing off Main Street in Marblehead where the drifts still covered the roadway. On Tuesday morning all area schools closed for the day. The gas stations had cars lined up to fill up their gas tanks, and the stores had people picking up last minute items before the snow fell again. Forecasters predicted another six to 10 inches of snow to be on the ground by Wednesday night and the winds are to pick up and blow the snow around and cause drifting on the roadways once again.
